Qualche sera fa, commentando a distanza una serie televisiva con Ele, ho avuto tale rivelazione, così ho deciso di dare vita a questa rubrica, che spero avrà vita lunga e che possa divertirvi quanto diverte me realizzarla.
E' come un gioco di associazioni visive, letterarie e sensoriali a cui spesso do vita senza nemmeno accorgermi e che qui cercherò di sviluppare.

Often, when we buy or want something, these choice are influenced by our passions.
A few nights ago, meanwhile I was watching a Tv series and commenting it with Ele, I had this revelation.
It 's like a game of visual, literary and sensory associations who often do without even noticing it, and here I will try to develop.

Per questo primo appuntamento sarò un po' prolissa ma prometto che per i prossimi appuntamenti non sarà così.
Partirò da due punti saldi: un libro, da cui ho preso ispirazione per il titolo del blog e da un quadro, molto caro al mio cuore. Entrambi sono un substrato imprescindibile dei mie gusti e delle mie passioni in quanto mi accompagnano fin dall'infanzia e dalla prima adolescenza, un po' come sono Cenerentola e la Bella e la Bestia per molte bambine.
La Pedina Scambiata è quello che oggi definiremmo un romanzo rosa in costume, venne pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1926 ed è di una scrittrice inglese molto famosa e prolifica nel genere:
Georgette Heyer.
Avevo circa 9 anni e rimasi affascinata dalla sua copertina: la prima edizione italiana, edita dalla Mondadori del 1974, giaceva in mezzo ad altri libri in un cesto di offerte, così decisi di fare un regalo a mia madre. Io lo lessi solo alcuni anni dopo (avrò avuto circa 13 anni) e fu amore, amore per il protagonista che collegai direttamente con il "Cavaliere dell'ordine di Costantinopoli".

This first appointment will be a bit long-winded, but I promise that the next appointments will not be so.
I'll start by two strong points for me: a book, from which I took inspiration for the title of the blog and a portrait, very dear to my heart. Both are an essential substrate of my tastes and my passions as they accompany me since childhood and early adolescence, like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast are for many girls.
"These Old Shades" is a Georgette Heyer novel published for the first time in 1926, she was a very popular and prolific English writer particularly know for her historical romance novels set in the Regency and Georgian eras.
I was about 9 years old and I was fascinated by its cover. I found the first Italian edition published by Mondadori in 1974, in a basket full of sales, laying in the middle of other books so I decide to make a gift to my mother. I red it a few years later, I must have been about 13 years olde and it was love, love for the protagonist I connected directly with the Knight of Constantinople order.

E così, eccoci arrivati a LUI, il mio prediletto! Non vorrei tediarvi troppo a lungo ma vale la pena raccontarvi quest'episodio.
Avevo circa 5 anni e mia madre (grande fautrice, fin dalla più tenera infanzia, di molte delle mie passioni) mi portò per la prima volta a vedere uno dei musei più belli al mondo e della mia città: il Museo Poldi Pezzoli di Milano, sperando che la sua variegata collezione (quadri, gioielli, orologi, ceramiche, armature e reperti archeologici) affascinasse una bambina curiosa.
Aggirandomi fra tutte queste meraviglie con la bocca spalancata e gli occhi luccicanti, entrai in questa saletta, l'ultima di una serie di stanze, e mi ritrovai di fronte a LUI rimanendone folgorata, non volevo più venire via. Questa magia si ripete ogni volta che torno a trovare lui e tutte le meraviglie di cui è circondato. Di tale imbambolamento può dare testimonianza Elena.
La mia convinzione? E' che, probabilmente, in un'altra vita (se la reincarnazione esiste) questo Gentiluomo fosse il mio amore, non saprei come altro spiegarvi la mia grandissima fascinazione.

And so, here we are to my beloved one! I would't bore you too long but I want to share with you this episode.
I was about 5 years old and my mother (great supporter, from my earliest childhood, of many of my passions) took me for the first time to see one of the most beautiful museums in the world and in my town: the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan, hoping its varied collection (paintings, jewelery, watches, ceramics, armor and archaeological stuff) could fascinate a curious child.
Walking among all these wonders all these wonders with my mouth open and eyes shining, I entered in a room, the latest in a series of rooms, and I found myself in front of HIM, remaining thunderstruck, and I didn't want to come by. This magic happens every time I come back to him. Elena can testify about that!
My conviction? It is that: probably, in another life (if reincarnation exists) this gentleman was my love, I don't know how else to explain my great fascination for him.

Ed ora dopo avervi tediato con alcuni aneddoti della mia infanzia, prometto che non sarà una cosa abituale, vorrei dare l'avvio vero e proprio a questa rubrica.

Ad ispirarmi nel suo acquisto, oltre al suddetto libro e quadro, aggiungo un'altra opera di Fra' Galgario, conservata in un'altro dei musei più belli e più importanti non solo di Milano e dell'Italia, ma al mondo, la Pinacoteca di Brera: "Il ritratto di Gentiluomo o di un Conte Tassi", che per molti di voi sarà sicuramente più attraente del mio prediletto.

And now, after having bored you with some anecdotes from my childhood (I promise, that will not be a regular thing) I would start with the core of this post.

As an ispiration me in this purchase, in addition to the said book and portrait, I add another work of Fra' Galgario, kept in another of the most beautiful and important Milan museums, the Pinacoteca di Brera: "Portrait of a gentleman or a Count Tassi", which for many of you will certainly be more attractive than my beloved.

Amante dei film e dei libri in costume come sono, non potevo non diventare fan della nuova serie francese prodotta da Canl+: Versailles (è lei la serie incriminata che in una tarda serata ha dato il via a tutto).
La adoro! Costumi e ambientazione sono meravigliosi e anche se
cronologicamente anteriori al libro e ai quadri che vi ho citato fino ad ora ma, hanno
comunque grande influenza sul mio ultimo acquisto: Le Irregular Choice I can't touch this.
Sono di una vecchia collezione e sono praticamente introvabili se non su eBay: infatti, innamorata di un modello in color corda adornato di un grosso fiore panna e splendide violette, sono finita per scovare un ben più appariscente modello in broccato oro su fondo nero con fiore dorato e violette nere.
Ne esistono anche altre varianti, andate a guardarle
qui e magari a cercare di farne vostre un paio.
Lover of in costume films and books as I am, I couldn't help becoming a fan of the new French series produced by channel +: Versailles (it's the incriminated series I mentioned before).
I love it! Costumes and set are wonderful and, even though chronologically earlier than the previous references, this series have a great influence on my latest purchase: Irregular Choice "Can't touch this"
They are an old collection and are virtually impossible to find except on eBay. In fact, even if I was in love with a rope coloured pair, adorned with a big cream flower and beautiful violets, I bought a much more flashy gold black brocade model with golden flower and black violets instead.

Facendo un salto di qualche secolo, dalla Francia passiamo all'impero Austro-Ungarico e andiamo nella mitteleuropa con i film sulla principessa Sissi, interpretata dalla bellissima Romy Schneider. Dalle sue splendide acconciature copio spesso l'idea di indossare spille fra i capelli ma, i miei due recenti acquisti ispirati a lei sono questi guanti lunghi, senza dita, un paio dal tenue color azzurro e uno da un verde poco più acceso.

Taking a jump of several centuries, from France to the Austro-Hungarian empire in the middle of Central Europe, we arrive to the movies series dedicated to Empress Sissi played by the beautiful Romy Schneider. From her beautiful hairstyles, I often copy the idea of wearing brooch on my hairdressing.
My two recent "Sissi inspired" purchases are these couple of long fingerless gloves, one in pale blue and one in a little more heated green.
