Eccomi qui da voi: stiamo entrando in pieno periodo Natalizio e per me le decorazioni e tutto il resto iniziano il 7 Dicembre (sono Milanese e certe tradizioni si rispettano!), perciò è il momento di prepararsi.

Molto spesso siamo attanagliate dalla domanda: “E ora? Come mi vesto?”, soprattutto quando ci troviamo a dover scegliere un outfit che come caratteristiche deve avere l’essere chic e adatto a svariate occasioni o addirittura trasformabile nel corso della giornata.

Oggi sono qui per darvi una delle mie personali risposte al riguardo.

Very often we are in the grip of a big question: "And now? How do I dress?", especially when we have to choose a convertible outfit that must be chic and suitable for almost any occasion.

Here's my answer: when in doubt... be a sailor!

Per una giornata lavorativa, per un aperitivo o per una serata estiva o, perché no, anche invernale, il sailor look può essere una vera e propria garanzia. Facile ed economico da ricreare, può avere mille declinazioni.

Insomma, il sailor look vi permette molte combinazioni, sempre eleganti, sempre attuali e anche economiche, adatte al mare come in città, per un pranzo di lavoro come per una serata scatenata fra amici o per un falò sulla spiaggia.

Come non amare lo stile floreale, con i suoi racemi e fiori, piegati a costruire forme di delicata ed intricata bellezza decorativa?

La stoffa ricorda sia i bellissimi disegni per tappezzerie e tessuti d'arredamento disegnati da William Morris che quelli creati da Mucha presenti nei nei Documents Décoratifs.

Come potete vedere, Lindy Bop ha creato tre splendidi modelli di chiara ispirazione Art  Nouveau e Art and Craft. Al momento non sono più disponibili sul sito ma, potete trovarli su ebay.

Se trovate che per voi l'abito è troppo impegnativo si può trovare una gonna a ruota con un altrettanto bella fantasia.

As my friends know very well, L 'Art Nouveau is one of my ruling passions.

How not to love the floral style, with its racemes and flowers bend to build forms of delicate and intricate decorative beauty?

So when I saw this Lindy Bop dress I could not resist!

Itsbpattern reminded me the beautiful designs for tapestries and upholstery fabrics designed by William Morris and those created by Mucha for the Documents Decoratifs.

- Two stolen shots at the "Alphonse Mucha and Art Nouveau atmosphere" exhibition that has just ended in Milan.

- William Morris designs for tapestry and wallpaper.

As you can see Lindy Bop has created three beautiful models clearly inspired by Art Nouveau and Art and Craft. At the moment they're no longer available on the site but you can find them on ebay.

If you find that the dress is too much for you, there is a beautiful skirt with very similar and beautiful pattern.

Avendo i capelli lunghi, ultimamente molto lunghi per il mio standard, spesso mi ritrovo a tenerli raccolti, un po' per praticità un po' per necessità.

Siccome non c'è nulla di più noioso di capelli tristemente raccolti sulla nuca - problema in cui spesso incappo, lo confesso - molte volte cerco di adornare un po' le mie acconciature. Oltre ai fiori, uno dei miei accessori preferiti sono gli hair combs.

Fin dai tempi più antichi le donne amavano ornarsi i capelli in vario modo: nastri, fiori e accessori metallici e luccicanti. Uno dei periodi più felici per questo tipo di ornamenti è stata l'età Edoardiana. L'uso delle nuove materie plastiche diede vita ad ornamenti estrosi e ricoperti di cristalli colorati che molte donne poterono finalmente permettersi.

As I have long hair, lately very long for my standards, I often find myself tying it up,  a bit for practical reasons, a bit for necessity.

Because there is nothing more boring than sadly tied back hair - a problem I often run into, I confess - many times I try to adorn my hairstyles. In addition to flowers, one of my favorite accessories are the hair combs.

Since the oldest time, women loved to adorn their hair in various ways: ribbons, flowers and metallic and glittering accessories, often very precious. One of the most happy periods for this type of ornaments was the Edwardian age. The use of new plastic materials gave birth to fanciful and covered with colored crystal ornaments that many women could afford.
